You’ll love it up here.
Our Downtown San Diego private event space is like no other wedding venue or banquet hall. With our prime location, ballpark views, and modern vibe, you will be captivated from the moment you set foot inside. Perfect for your corporate event, birthday party, charity function, wedding, and so much more. Come see what makes our Skybox tower the private event space in San Diego that stands above all the rest.
Why is The Skybox so popular?
It’s true that there are many options when you think about private event spaces or wedding venues in San Diego. You may have even visited a few already. Nothing against the others, but what you’ll likely find is that many of these event spaces are a bit old school. The hotel venues feel like multi-purpose ballrooms. They may have had a corporate lunch in the very same room earlier in the day. No matter how much you decorate, there’s just something that feels somewhat impersonal. And for your wedding or special event, we feel your San Diego venue should shine through.
That’s what makes the Skybox so popular and unique. You don’t have to hold your wedding or gathering in a generic property. Imagine taking the elevator up to a breathtaking view – the best view in Downtown San Diego, in fact. Your guests will be charmed by the ambiance of the Skybox, from its welcoming outdoor area to its chic interior. Think of an amazing day or night in your own private event space and lounge – that’s the Skybox. It’s not stuffy or overly corporate. It’s not bland and interchangeable. It has a vibe all its own that wedding couples and partygoers really connect with.
How to book The Skybox
Our San Diego banquet hall and event space tends to book out far in advance, especially on highly desired calendar dates. So if you are planning a wedding or special event, be sure to contact us right away. Be ready with your event date so we can confirm availability. We’ll then take you through a few details, along with options for your event. If you like what you hear, we highly advise that you book The Skybox as soon as possible to ensure your first choice date. Our highly knowledgeable wedding and events staff will help ensure that all the specifics of your event are handled with the utmost care!

We had the opportunity of celebrating some friends of ours wedding reception up here in the Ultimate Skybox in the Diamondview Tower. The views are unbelievable and the setup was gorgeous! Perfect views of Petco park, the San Diego skyline & the bay. They had a 12 foot long outdoor fireplace. They also had a security guy holding us down all night lol.. This is definitely an amazing place and if you ever get the chance to come up here don't skip out. If it wasn't so far for us, I would suggest this being where we have our reception.OOOOO5 out 5 Afros read less

The venue has a sweeping view of the stadium (you can actually watch the game from the balcony) and the harbor. Gorgeous. There's a full bar, super clean bathrooms with lots of toiletry baskets, and even a small area for guestbook/photobooth/gift table settings. Really nice. There's even a warm fire place area outside for when it gets chillier at night. Loved the venue and had a great time! read less

This was actually the first venue at which we looked, and the only reason we didn't sign on right away was me saying "we cant go with the first place we see." But we found ourselves comparing every other space to this one, and we called them soon after to reserve the date. Everyone at Creative Affairs (which manages events at the venue) was fabulous and so willing to work with us at every twist and turn. Whenever we had a question or issue, the crew was willing to accommodate and make it work. And when the big day came, everyone commented on how beautiful the space is and what a wonderful event it was. We were grateful for the flexibility to bring in our own vendors, but that they had a list of preferred vendors. We ended up going with some of their preferred vendors and we were so glad they were familiar with the site, it made things so much easier. Overall, it was a magical experience and a perfect day. It was so neat to be able to look down into Petco Park, and see Coronado in the distance. The layout of the inside was great as well. There is a bar in the back of the venue with a nice area to mingle with guests. The front section has a nice space for a dance floor (or karaoke in our case!). Once everything was set up, the venue looked incredible and we had a fantastic party. read less

City views, upscale decor, but still fun and youthful. It really was terrific. I mean, just look at this view! yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… and yelp.com/biz_photos/the-…I loved that the ceremony and reception were all in one location. I also loved the fireplace, it's kind of my "thing." So for me, that was a selling point. I've reviewed the Event team separately over at Creative Affairs, so feel free to check that out, but a quick summary is that they're amazing, hard working and wonderful! read less

My husband and I did a destination wedding in San Diego and saw 10+ venues in a long weekend trip to nail down the big vendors. As soon as we walked in we knew this was the place. The indoor/outdoor feel, large floor to ceiling windows, outdoor fire place and views of Coronado Island and Petco park are just a few of the features we loved. The space is clean and modern. They have a full kitchen and built in bar. The space is BYOB for all vendors which helps a lot with the cost (there is a required catering and rentals list but its very extensive). The cost is a little higher than we wanted for a venue however with a wedding planner from Creative Affairs built into the price its easy to understand the value and did not cause us to think twice about choosing this space. You have the option of using the furniture on hand or bringing in your own rentals. Since we were having a traditional dinner with family style food, we only opted to only use the belly bar tables outside and outdoor lounge furniture they have on the patio. All their furniture is beautiful itself and we did not need to do any decorating outside of having a few candles. They also have a couple of sectional couches, 2 large 6 person farmer style tables and a few living room chairs. If you are looking to host a casual party of a business event, any of these pieces could be handy to use. We had just over 100 guests and I would say 20 more would have probably been pushing it a bit for a traditional wedding dinner but we would have made it work. With the indoor/outdoor space, you can push tables onto the patio if needed. I would also add the convenience of the parking garage in the building and the ability to cover the cost for guests if you would like. Our wedding was on a night there was no baseball game so it was a little cheaper. We provided transportation for most guests so parking costs were under $200 for all our guests who drove so we covered the cost. Consistent with other reviews here, its an amazing way to show your guests the city of San Diego. read less

Amanda responded to my online inquiry immediately and was honest and straightforward about everything we'd need to consider when it came to cost, timing, etc. Stef was incredibly helpful and super responsive. The venue includes an outdoor terrace which overlooks Petco Park, with views of downtown, Point Loma, Coronado & the Pacific Ocean in the background. The venue is quite simply stunning. It's an ideal blend of sophistication and laid back San Diego vibe: not too casual, but not pretentious either. It was perfect! There's a great dance floor area, an ample bar, and even a contemporary outdoor fireplace as well; great for any social gathering. In nice weather, the glass wall leading to the terrace folds completely in, to create a true indoor/outdoor feel. We used this venue on a very busy Padres game night (a Padres/Dodgers game), and even with 40,000+ in attendance, our guests had very few issues with parking or closed streets (there is a 3-level underground parking garage in the building). As for the coordinators: Pili and Chauncey were absolutely amazing! Both were very thorough, professional, and had a meticulous eye for detail. They were also incredibly responsive to all our questions and requests (which were MANY), and were genuinely pleasant to work with. The only thing we would have liked to change about our big day was the weather (which was completely out of their control of course), but even with impending rain, Chauncey remained wonderfully flexible up to the last moment on letting us decided whether or not to hold our ceremony on the outdoor terrace. We received countless compliments from our guests on the seamlessness and flawless execution of our wedding, which is a glowing testament to the entire staff at Creative Affairs. The value this team provided was truly above and beyond our wildest expectations. read less

The wedding I attended began at 5:30pm and it was funny because the music of the Padres getting ready below started to playing during the vows, so all of a sudden you just heard Miley Cyrus rocking out to 'Party in the USA!' WHOO!!! If that doesn't say party, I don't know what does. One cool moment while we were here was when the Padres scored a home run, we could see the fireworks set off from the stadium at the Skybox. The food here is amazing too. I think it's an in-house catering company so if you are looking to have your wedding here, go with the Skybox's choices of caters! Parking is the one thing that really became confusing. When I pulled in to the parking lot under the building, I was told that the Skybox people upstairs would validate my parking. When I asked if there was anything that I needed to pay if I stayed longer or if it became past a certain time, the man who was working the booth just started laughing and me and said "THE SKYBOX WILL VALIDATE!" I was just like, well, all right, took my ticket and drove it. I couldn't believe he laughed at me... at my face! During the cocktail hour, I found one of the staff (later found out he was the security/bouncer man) and had asked him about the Skybox validating my parking. Since I was laughed at, I didn't know what to do. Anyways, he had asked his supervisor and they didn't really know so before I left I asked the people who ran the front desk at the time. They said they didn't really known either, but eventually they let me out. Overall... Beautiful venue and great views of the city. If you are coming to check out the venue for an event/wedding, ask your wedding planner to double check about parking/validation so you don't end up in the same problem as I did! read less

Do yourself a favor and just come check it out. The view is the best in San Diego, and it's a great way to wow guests right away. SPACE: The room itself is great, if a little board-roomish. To compensate for this, we hired a furniture company to come bring quirky funky chairs and couches, which more than compensated for it. Made it all a really great experience. We had our ceremony off-site because it felt a little awkward to have it there. It would've been fine, but I think it's better as just a reception venue if you can swing it. SERVICE: With the rental comes a day-of coordinator, assigned 3 months before the wedding itself. Ours was a charming young woman named Chauncey, who worked with us every step of the way, holding us to a checklist, asking us questions we didn't even know we needed to answer, and basically guiding us through the entire thing. We cannot say enough nice things about Chauncey, personally or professionally. I have no idea what kind of experience it would've been without her, and I shudder to even consider it. So much of the ease and flow of the entire day was because she was back there running the thing from start to finish. Couldn't have been better. read less

We were there for a birthday party, and from the looks of it, the venue has everything for a great party:- easy to find location, in gaslamp- beautiful view- bar - stage and audio for live band/DJ/speeches- nice bathrooms- food stationsIf you're looking for a sit down dinner, I'm not sure if they're able to provide that, but our party hosts had food stations and tons of hors d'oeuvre being passed around. Food was pretty good too.Not sure about the parking situation since we walked there from our hotel. We had a great time, and as a bonus, Monster Jam was going on at Petco the night we were there, so it was extra entertainment provided. My husband and I knew this was our wedding venue the moment we stepped into the room. Forget your hotel ballrooms with no windows or generic garden gazebo. You don't even need to spend tons on decorations or lighting with the sweeping city lights and landscape all around you. The venue comes with, hands down, the best wedding coordinators in the business from Creative Affairs, a built in bar (you can bring your own spirits at no extra charge), security, and a list of preferred vendors for rentals and catering that you'd probably pick anyway they're so good. We still get genuine compliments from our wedding guests about how it was the best wedding and venue they'd been to and we were married in October 2016. Sunset pictures from this venue are to die for and unlike other wedding pictures you'll see. We truly had our dream wedding and day at The Ultimate Skybox. Our coordinator, Rachel, allowed us to show our out of town parents the venue on separate occasions before the big day, with no hassle at all. The pricing is upfront, and although maybe a bit higher than other venues, so worth it in the end as it really includes a lot, and allows you to just really enjoy the planning process and wedding day! read less
